Welcome to

NWOC's Black
Empowerment Initiative

At NeighborWorks Orange County (NWOC), we believe in fostering strong communities through empowerment and access to homeownership. Our Black Homeownership Empowerment Initiative (BHEI) is dedicated to bridging the gap, providing resources, guidance, and support to empower Black individuals and families in their journey towards owning a home.

The initiative offers pre-purchase counseling and education, aiming to make the dream of homeownership a reality. The BHEI virtual workshops, scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 5:45 – 7:00 pm, provide an engaging platform for education and guidance. A free credit report will be provided within 6 months for webinar registrants. These workshops cover essential topics to empower participants on their homeownership journey.

Our Mission

We are committed to dismantling barriers and creating pathways to homeownership within the Black community. Through education, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, we aim to:

Empowerment through Knowledge:
Educate and equip individuals with the necessary tools and information to make informed decisions about homeownership.

Financial Empowerment:
Through financial literacy programs and down payment assistance we aim to break down barriers to homeownership. Financial empowerment is at the core of our initiative, ensuring that the path to homeownership is accessible to all.

Advocacy and Support:
Advocate for policies that promote fair housing practices and support initiatives that increase Black homeownership rates.
