Top 3 Benefits of Buying a Home During the Holidays
Trends that make holiday home shopping worthwhile.
Buying a home during the holidays can be stressful, but everyone else’s distraction may mean big savings for you!
1. Reduced competition means motivated sellers.
With family obligations, presents to wrap, and parties to attend, fewer people shop for homes during the holidays than any other time of the year. As a result, houses are generally listed at a lower price, and sellers can be much more open to negotiation. Instead of the common experience of losing bids in other seasons, you may find yourself able to lock down a home you like quickly and negotiate the seller below the asking price.
2. Slower business means attentive lenders and real estate agents.
Because fewer people are shopping for homes, the professionals involved in your home buying process can typically devote more of their time and attention to you. This can actually speed up the home buying process significantly, allowing you to get back to the holiday celebrations you love with all the excitement of a new home!
3. Less homebuying business often means lower interest rates.
Interest rates fluctuate regularly, of course, but the trends show that they tend to be lower during the holidays. Even just a slight dip in interest rates can save you significant money over the life of your mortgage!
Holiday home shopping isn’t right for everyone, but
we hope these tips help you decide whether it’s right for you!
