Celebrating National Homeownership Month & NeighborWorks Week

Stay Connected with Our Community!

June is National Homeownership Month, a time to recognize the importance of stable housing, financial empowerment, and the role homeownership plays in building generational wealth. At NeighborWorks Orange County, we’re proud to join this national celebration with a full lineup of impactful programming, events, and milestones.

In this issue, we’re highlighting our ongoing NeighborWorks Week efforts, a month of virtual homebuyer education classes, an exciting save the date for our 2025 Homebuyer Day Fair, and recent community grants that help us expand our reach and impact.

Thank you for being part of our mission—together, we’re helping more families achieve the dream of homeownership and building stronger communities across Orange County.

Celebrating National Homeownership Month & NeighborWorks Week

June is National Homeownership Month — a time to recognize the importance of safe, stable housing and the power of education in building generational wealth. At NeighborWorks Orange County, this month also marks the annual celebration of NeighborWorks Week, held the first week of June for over 40 years. Throughout the month, we’re highlighting the collective impact of residents, volunteers, civic leaders, and partners who share our mission to expand access to homeownership and strengthen financial empowerment in our communities.

From webinars and down payment assistance sessions to our signature HUD-approved Homebuyer Education class, our June programming reflects the values of NeighborWorks Week in action. Families like the Medinas—who went from believing they could only afford a mobile home to purchasing a house with the help of our resources—show just how transformational these tools can be. Their journey is a reminder that with persistence, support, and the right guidance, homeownership is within reach.

2024-2025 Community Support in Action: Grants Fuel Our Mission

As we approach the end of the fiscal year, NeighborWorks Orange County extends our heartfelt gratitude to our 2024–2025 grant sponsors. Your generous support has been instrumental in helping us deliver essential housing programs and financial education services across Orange County.

We extend a special thank you to U.S. Bank for their transformational three-year grant of $250,000, which has significantly enhanced our work in expanding access to homeownership, promoting financial empowerment, and deepening community engagement.

We also express our sincere gratitude to our additional sponsors:

Their combined contributions support essential programs such as homebuyer education, pre-purchase counseling and financial literacy workshops. With their partnership, we are helping more families achieve long-term stability and build generational wealth through homeownership, creating stronger, more resilient communities throughout Orange County.
